WIHG is the largest private manufacturer of license plates in North America, with many State and Province DMV’s purchasing 100% of their plates under contract (along with a variety of Caribbean and Latin American countries). We are proud to say that our longest running account, the State of Oregon, has a history with Irwin Hodson dating to 1917.

About the Position
Working from our Amherst N.S. facility, your role would be to process supplier payments and customer invoices, as well as directing telephone calls to the main switchboard.

Key skills and qualifications

Post-secondary education or demonstrated experience will be highly valued
High-level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel with documented practical experience
Impeccable attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Accounts Payable Duties:

Verify accuracy of invoices, ensure proper general ledger coding, and ensure invoices are properly approved
Post accounts payable invoices in accounting system
Complete purchase orders for purchase approval
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Maintains historical records by properly filing documents

Accounts Receivable Duties:

Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
Verify accuracy of invoices, ensure proper general ledger coding, and create and mail invoices to customers
Maintain records by properly organizing and filing paperwork
Monitor receivable balances and notify account manager when problems arise
