Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate for their location in Halifax. This is an ongoing contract opportunity.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, and as a key part of the accounting team, your primary duties will include:
• Managing specific vendor accounts
• Receiving, verifying and coding invoices
• Entering invoices
• Assisting with cheque run
• Discussing payment arrangements with vendors
• Vendor account reconciliations
• Other projects as assigned
As the ideal candidate you have a minimum of five years’ full cycle accounts payable processing experience, a solid understanding of general accounting principles, and post-secondary education at the college or university level in business or accounting.
Demonstrating exceptional organizational skills, you are a motivated individual with an above average attention to detail. Combining a positive attitude and excellent communication skills, you have the ability to maintain strong relationships with both internal and external parties. Additionally, you are able to effectively balance multiple priorities in a busy work environment.
