Accounting Technician – Kemptville – Walker & Associates Professional Corporation

Walker & Associates Professional Corporation is a public accounting firm with offices located in Kemptville and Prescott, Ontario. Walker & Associates proudly serves and responds to the needs of our clients in the small business, farming and not-for-profit sectors. We provide a collaborative, cost-effective approach to doing business and provide advice and support that help our clients succeed.

We are looking for an accounting technician for a term placement at our office.

Performance Expectations
All bookkeeping duties and functions including recording of all transactions and interpretation of clients records in a computerized and non-computerized environment, preparing and maintaining payroll and related government remittances/filings;
Complete bank reconciliations;
Harmonized Goods and Services Tax (HST) returns, financial statements and personal and corporate tax returns;
Personal income tax returns and supporting tax schedules including financial statements as required; and
Other administrative planning and completion aspects of accounting work.

Credentials
Completion of an Accounting Business Diploma or Certificate;
Experience with preparing T4’s and T5’s;
Experience with preparation of personal income tax;
Understanding of payroll, bookkeeping and record keeping practices on manual and computerized system(s);
Experience working with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, Profile, QuickBooks and Sage Accounting;
Strong computer literacy including effective working skills of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and
Knowledge of the agricultural industry and/or a farming background is considered an asset, but is not required.
