NBCC is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Accounting Clerk. Our College is committed to transforming lives and communities. Reporting to the Director of Finance, and as a member of the Finance and Administration division, you will assist the director and analysts on the team to compile data into information using Microsoft Excel and/or Access; perform basic analysis of financial information and statistics; format current or compiled information into one or more presentation-ready formats for varying audiences; run reports from our enterprise-wide system, as requested, and create documentation regarding any of the work above.
Committed to the success of the organization, the ideal candidate will be accountable, adept at multi-tasking, and have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Attention to detail and working with accuracy are also required.
Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma supplemented by a one-year post-secondary education in accounting plus a minimum of three (3) years of related experience, or a high school diploma supplemented by a two-year diploma in accounting plus two (2) years of related experience. Applicants must have a strong knowledge of MS Office Suite with a minimum intermediate level in Excel (i.e. PIVOTs, LOOKUP, formatting, etc.) and demonstrated experience in mathematical calculations. Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Graduation from a post-secondary accounting program and/or an accounting designation will be considered asset qualifications.
Written and spoken competence in English is required.
Preference may be given to candidates with experience with NBCC (Province of New Brunswick) financial reporting systems (e.g. ORACLE) and/or intermediate level skill in Microsoft Access.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
NBCC offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes a competitive bi-weekly salary for this position ranging from $1,363 to $1,644 bi-weekly.
