Duties
Reporting to the Marine Institute Financial Administrator and the Marine Institute Students’ Union (MISU) President, the successful applicant will be responsible for administering the student health insurance plan and preparing monthly budget statements for the MISU. Duties include controlling cash flow, making daily deposits, and ensuring prompt payment of invoices; liaising with the Institute’s finance office regarding MISU expenditures; preparing monthly reconciliations for the Institute’s finance office; preparing sponsored student billings and tuition voucher billings; reviewing and updating the MISU’s policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls are in place; coordinating the maintenance of the MISU website; coordinating the publishing and distribution of the MISU newsletter; assisting in the publication of the student planner; assisting with the coordination of special events; assisting with the MISU general meetings and other related affairs; and performing other related duties as required in both the MISU and the Institute’s Finance Office.
Qualifications
Experience (1-3 years) in an accounting environment; graduation from a three-year diploma program in business administration specializing in accounting; an equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Knowledge of the Banner System and knowledge of student governance issues would be definite assets.
Salary $35,907 to $50,353 per annum (NAPE 7850)
