Accounting Clerk / Administrative Assistant – Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of Newfoundland – St. John’s

The position of Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Director of Finance and provides support for the finance team.  The successful candidate would be responsible for utilizing his/her computer skills to assist with general accounting activities.   The successful candidate would also be expected to assist with general office administrative and receptionist duties.  Duties include data entry, account reconciliation, filing, answering phones and other accounting and office administration duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduation from a two year post-secondary education business administration program specializing in accounting
Three to five years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in the use of ACCPAC – SAGE 300ERP computer program for accounting would be  considered a definite asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Good time management and organizational skills
Dependency and reliability
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

The successful candidate must provide a Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RNC as well as medical verification of the ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation package, including group insurance and RRSP plan.  The starting salary for the successful candidate ranges from $15.75 to $16.00 per hour.
